We had this crazy idea to create a book written by women for women about loving women. Maybe even a series like Chicken soup, only with inspiration stories about women loving women. Her Love, Her Story seemed like a great title. Why? Well, here are 5 reasons:
1. The phrase emphasizes her—places focus on individual women and their unique experiences. This personal touch resonates deeply with readers looking for authentic, heartfelt stories.
2. By combining “Love” and “Story,” it covers a broad spectrum of lesbian experiences, from romantic relationships to self-discovery and beyond. It’s an inclusive title that doesn’t limit itself to one specific theme.
3. The repetition of “Her” creates a rhythm that is easy to remember and emotionally evocative. It highlights the individuality of each woman while connecting them through shared themes of love and storytelling.
4. It has the potential to work as an umbrella title for multiple volumes. For example:
- Volume 1: Her Love, Her Story: Coming Out
- Volume 2: Her Love, Her Story: Falling in Love
5. The title celebrates lesbian love and identity in a positive light. It suggests empowerment by allowing women to tell their own stories, reclaiming their narrative in a world that hasn’t always given them a voice. there the idea grew wings and developed personality of it’s own.
We liked all of that. We chose it. We built a website. And now?
herLoveherStory is ready to be a book.
A really good book.
A really good book filled with extraordinary true stories from the real women who have experienced them. Stories of women loving women. stories that touch hearts, stir memories, and reignite hope. Stories that remind us who we were then, who we are now, and honour how far we’ve come – revealing the deep connection all lesbian women share.
If you’re a lesbian woman, then you’ve got stories worth telling.
Stories about coming out, first crushes, falling in love, and so much more.
We want your stories.
So that we can make this really good book.
Together, we can create something extraordinary: a book that truly matters.
When we finally decided to take on this project , we had to ask ourselves what it means to be a lesbian and this is our collaborative summary:
being a lesbian means embracing love, attraction, and connection to women on a deep, authentic level—emotionally, romantically, and physically. it’s not just about who you love; it’s about how you show up in the world and live in your truth.
it can mean discovering and claiming your identity in a society that doesn’t always understand or accept it, yet finding strength in that journey. it’s the joy of creating bonds with women who see and love you for who you are, the power of community and shared experiences, and the beauty of a love that feels right in your heart and soul.
it also carries a spectrum of experiences—first crushes, navigating coming out, enduring heartbreak, finding joy, and building a life that reflects your truth. to be a lesbian is to live boldly and unapologetically, loving in a way that feels as natural as breathing, even when the world sometimes tries to tell you otherwise.
Yeah. we think that’s a pretty good definition, although i have no doubt you have your own! and that’s exactly why we wanted to create this book.
So how about it?
Wanna share your stories? (Yeah, you know you‘ve got more than one!) This could be an epic adventure and we want you to come along for the ride!
Interested? Sweet!
